The mind-body connection and how this impacts how we learn Research Paper
The mind-body connection and how this impacts how we learn - Research Paper Example As Weiss (2014) maintains, the body does not exist merely for carrying the head around. Instead, the whole body is engaged when a person thinks and learns. Learning involves numerous novel neuron connections that result into new structures in the brain from time to time. These neurons consist of several receptors, which are proteins that vibrate and change shape over time. Hydrolysis of proteins produces peptides and research has shown that the same peptides discovered in the brain were in the rest of the other systems of the body (Weiss, 2014). This is proof that the connection between the body and the mind is actually physical. This body-soul connection affects learning in various ways. The plasticity of the brain depends on ability of a person to generate novel brain cells, something that has to do with the body. Brain plasticity denotes the capability of the brain to learn continuously while updating its database. Throughout oneââ¬â¢s life, new brain cells that are functional are generated each day. Scientists have maintained that the human brain emerges as an organ that has organic tissues that are most complex, numerous connections. Studies have shown that these connections do not occur exclusively during the learning process but also transpire to a greater degree in those people who are physically active as compared to those who are less active in physical terms. This is in line with recent data collection that shows that physically active people have a relatively large cortical mass in comparison to their less physically active counterparts. The fact that the bodily stimulations instanced by being physically active enhance the ability of the cells of the n erve to connect translates to ameliorated learning process (Kotz, 2010). Without doubt, the mind-body connection has an important role in enhancing the learning process and this needs consideration to ameliorate learning in

Critique assignment - Essay Example It was good that the working title of their report was itself the primary aim indicated in the abstract. The authors were apparently determined to be consistent throughout. However, they failed to narrow down the research title, which was too general. The abstract specifically said that the patients were 42 men but the title overlooked this. Also, though the title may be understandable to readers of varying backgrounds, the abstract looked informal and deviated from the usual academic tone. It had sub-headings, some of which were composed of phrases instead of recognized sentences. The abstractââ¬â¢s opening line ââ¬Å"Aim: To assess changes in quality of life (QoL) and oxygen consumption produced by two different patterns of physical training in patients with congestive heart failure (CHF)â⬠was certainly a phrase. Though the abstract gave an accurate synopsis of the report, it was just puzzling why such informality was allowed to be published by professors and by an intern ational journal. The report did mention how participants were allocated into three groups as part of the intervention process, but failed to specify the randomization technique used. The introduction part was not very direct in conveying its message to readers, whoever they may be. There was never any mention for whom the report was intended ââ¬â whether it was for aspiring cardiologists, for physical therapists, for patients with CHF beyond the studyââ¬â¢s jurisdiction, or for nearly anyone interested in the research. Moreover, the scientific explanations provided in the introduction lacked statistical backing, which would have strengthened the need or the rationale for conducting the research (University of Guelph, n.d.). For instance, the authors merely explained the meaning of congestive heart failure and its association with high mortality the way a medical dictionary would. The meaning did not prove the necessity for employing physical exercises to improve the QoL and oxygen

Summary Module 7 - Essay Example on should follow both the theological and philosophical nature to shade the light on the truth by reducing the difference between the west and the east as far as Christianity perspectives are concerned. The Encyclical Redemption mission calls the church to make it known to all that the Gospel is the truth through definitive word of Jesus in full. This is because the beliefs by other religions about Jesus, which are not true, and they should be ignored. Obedience, faith and the truth should be the guidance to the church when proclaiming the word of God as Jesus died after instructing us to do so. The church should understand that the word is the true picture of revelation through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. This as seen in the New Testament shows that God sent Jesus to the world to die for us and that whoever wants to see God has to pass through Christ. Initially, children who die before baptism were believed to go to hell because of the inherited sins from their parents as per Augustineââ¬â¢s thought. This is a changed belief in the Catholic, as the penalty of sin will be burdened to the actual sinner. The children will enjoy peace with God according to pope Innocent III. Since we live in the world of faith and hope, we should have hope for the better of the children who die due to abortion. In the Bible Jesus point out that, children will inherit the kingdom of God and they should not be prohibited from coming to the Christ as per the book of Mathew in the New Testament. Evangelism vita by John Paul II indicates that children while still in the wombs of their mothers are Godly objects of Fatherly loving. This means that they are blessed before they are born. It is illogical to judge the fate of unbaptized children as it is only the jurisdiction of the Creator. From the New Testament, Jesus teaches about going to heaven to be entailing knowing Jesus and being born again. In patristic period, it gave a provision for salvation outside the church only to those
